BY! GEORGE! I think he's got it!

A Couple of weeks ago while I lay dying in my bed with the worst head cold/flu know to man, I received a lovely PR email to try out what Calgarians have know for years. The secret to well moisturized skin during our harsh cold winter months.

George Special Dry Skin Cream...Was created for lasting dry skin relief.
Provides relief from several different types of skin conditions.
Works! That is why it is recommended by dermatologists, pharmacists and physicians.

George's Light Special Moisturizing Lotion...
Is a lighter version of George's Special Dry Skin Cream, and has been carefully researched and formulated to soothe and protect problem skin.
Is gentle enough for use every day and can be used by those with sensitive skin .
Maintains the integrity of the cream with a minimum of ingredients and has no additives that could cause allergies.

This cream was truly a miracle worker for me, it was sent to me at the most perfect time! I used the George's special dry cream to relieve my super dry nose.  My nose had taken a beating from my head cold and it was red scabby and oh so dry. George's special dry cream brought my skin back! It soothed and brought back the skin around my nose back to normal so quickly!

I used the George's light special moisturizing lotion all over my dry body and I felt immediate relief.  Being sick and in bed for about 3 days makes your skin so dry.

Thank you George's light special moisturizing lotion for saving my skin!

REVLON'S Lip Butters

Le balm, soft lips, baby lips, seems the cosmetic world has gone gaga over lip balms! I've tried all the ones that we have gotten at my shoppers but in my opinion the winner of the balms is Revlon's Lip butters.

The color selection is amazing, from the lighest to darkest shades.  The formula is smooth, moisturizing, pigmented and once the shine is gone, your lips look "stained".

My fav is 010 rasberry pie.

Have you tried any of the balms out there??

Maybelline Color Tattoo

Yup all the hype you have read about these little pots of cream shadows by Maybelline are true.  Yes, they are very similar to mac's paint pots, yes the color payoff is good, no creasing, long lasting, easy to work with, and very very affordable.
I have a few and yup I like them a lot. I use them as bases or sometimes wear them alone. I like that some are matte finish and some are sheen, I love the color selection and I hope they stay permanent because I hear they are limited edition.

LUSH -Oh!-Haulic

Bath bombs, bubble bars, massage bars, emotibombs, Honey, I washed the kids soap, are all words known by Lush-oh!-haulics.

My name is Ande and YES! I am a LUSH lover and YES I haul to much at LUSH but how can you not??? really?? come on? have you tried a LUSH bath with a combination of bubble bar and a bath bomb?? OMG heaven.

So if you haven't, go visit a LUSH store now! If you are an addict like me, share with me your favourite combinations or fav product from LUSH!

Forever21 Natural Palette -JLO inspired makeup tutorial

FOREVER 21 NATURAL & SMOKEY PALETTES

Last Thursday I made my way over to the mall to look for an outfit for my big night out dancing with my friends to celebrate a birthday, I didn't find an outfit but I did find these palettes! The salesgirl was just putting them out and I had seen some YouTube makeup gurus saying that Forever21 had some great makeup options at a very low price.

First, I picked up the natural palette and my first reaction was wow it looks like the UD naked palette.  The packaging is about the same, with magnet to keep it closed.  It contains a black kohl pencil, which to my surprise is very smooth and lasted a few hours on the waterline.

The shadows are very pigmented and smooth.  The palette contains some matte, some shimmer, some sheen shadows, I've been using these palette since Thursday and I am truly very impressed.
This look will be up on my YouTube channel as a makeup tutorial shortly.

I used the smokey palette on Saturday and did a smokey look and I am in love with the dark grey matte shadow in this palette! The shadows lasted all Saturday night and for that me finding an outfit? Well you 'll have to just go over to my fashion blog to find out!

Have you bought any makeup from Forever21??

My New Years Eve Look

Happy 2012! My new years eve celebration was a fun filled night with a great traditional last dinner with my family continued with some dancing and a few drinks!

My day started out around 10am and had a great big breakfast with my girls then I went up to get ready for work. I wanted to do something different but with knowing the fact that I was going to be making ladies pretty all day long and I knew what the #1 request of the day was, I did the traditional silver glitter and black eye look.

I also noticed that most YouTube makeup gurus all had some version of the silver and black NYE look. The look is quite simple. A cat eye shape with black shadow, leaving the lid bare, just with primer.  I applied non latex eye lash glue with a wet fiber concealer brush and applied silver cosmetic glitter on the lids. I applied a liquid liner close to the lashes with a little wing. Under the eyes I lined the waterline with a white Kohl pencil and just below the bottom lashes I smudged black shadow. I applied a silvery white shadow on the brow bone and used a mid matte brown to blend and soften the black shadow on the crease.
I used a volumizing mascara and some false lashes.

The rest of the face I kept very minimal. I used a bronzer to give me warmth and a peachy blush.
Lips were very glossy and lined all over with a natural pencil.

How did you do on NYE?

2011 Favourites

Trying to select my favourites for 2011 was easy. I selected products that I have repurchased throughout the year and find myself going to without thinking about them.

Also, a big factor of selecting my 2011 favourites are how well and how they performed on me.

To make it easier to follow along with this long post I labeled each picture with a number, now this number does not indicate who ranked 1st or last, its just easier for you to follow. lol.

So lets begin!

Picture 1.
The naked palette by Urban Decay. I love this palette! Its so versatile. I can create the easiest simplest look to most dramatic look by just using this palette.

Picture 2.
Smashbox contour palette and Smashbox pressed translucent powder in medium. I use these in pro kit and was lucky enough to receive a contour palette at the spring training that I kept one for my personal use. I love these products! They leave amazing natural results.

Picture 3.
Skincare. OK, so, because as part of my perks working at SDM, I have the opportunity to try out alot of skincare. I try high end to low end, But my absolute favourites in 2011 has to be Lancome's Visionnaire, Genifique nutrics, cream radiance face cleanser.  Vasanti's eye wonder and Brighten up! face scrub.  Marcelle's soothing cleansing water.  Dermaglow 8% glycolic moisturizer

I have been using these products since May 2011 and have seen so much improvement in my skin. I absolutely love all these skincare products. I love the way my skin feels, looks and reacts. Love Love Love!

Picture 4.
Hair products. I truly love Live Clean products, but this macadanian oil hair treatment is my life saver, actually my hair saver. It conditions my hair wonderfully and leaves it silky soft, shiny, and smelling so good!
Got2B volume powder works wonders in my hair to give it a natural fullness but leaves my hair touchable.
Ice Cream hydrator is just that, a tall glass of water for my dry hair over processed hair.  The Ice cream thermal sleek safe spray is a miracle worker! It literally coats the hair, creates new hair! Once sprayed onto your hair, just before you flat iron. Your hair transforms into this sleek healthy soft shiny hair!

Picture 5.
Mascaras. So many mascaras! I just threw out over 20 mascaras that went bad from being tested out by me. some I liked alot but not enough to be part of my favs.
Lancome's Hypnose drama, L'oreal voluminous false lashes, Annabelle's Le Big show, and the amazing Benefit's They're Real.

Picture 6.
Physicians formula liquid liner with serum is a dream to apply and its so fluid to work with.
Annabelle's smoothie eyeshadow pencils are amazing but I LOVE the color Licoriche. So long lasting, so smooth to work with, so pigmented, such long wearing pencil. LOVE!

Picture 7.
Lips.  I like Stila But I love Stila long wearing lipsticks even more! The color selection is amazing. The smooth, non drying, super long lasting formula is genius.
When it comes to lipstick, I always venture over to Marcelle. I love Marcelle lipsticks.
Lip glosses by Vasanti are the best lip glosses ever, nothing more can be said because they are.

So those are my 2011 Favourites!

I did leave out foundations because I am still looking for my love, I like a few but nothing that I can commit to.
If you would like more info on these products just leave me a comment.

Happy 2012 and Happy Makeup Shopping!
