Smashbox Cosmetics has a brand new line of lipsticks. Be Legendary 20 new shades, 4 matte and 16 cream. These formula is packed with vitamins A & E and Shea. The moisture complex provides amazing moisture to the lips. They are so pigmented! They last for hours and hours. They even passed my lets wear this from 8am till lunch. Well, lunch came and went and my lips were still colored! and not dry.

Smashbox Cosmetics Spring & Summer PREVIEW

Last Friday, Feb 24 2012, I attended a Smashbox Canada Spring training school and we were introduced to whats coming up this spring and summer.  

Lets start with what everyone is talking about, The BB cream. OK, so it's already sold out in all Sephora's and it wont be available in shoppers till Aug, which is a down side for me. 

Smashbox BB cream comes in 4 shades, fair, light, medium and dark. The shades cover all skin tones which is a plus. SPF 35 and safe for around the eyes. 

Contains 60% hyloranic base with the halo technology. Primer built in with antishine and line diminishing. ($50) 30ml.

I tried the medium and the color was a bit too dark for me. I like the consistency and loved the finish. It was very easy to work with and slip of cream was smooth. 

Coming in mid April are the limitless 15 hour wear cream shadows. 8 shades. $23

They are alcohol free, so they will not dry out. They come in glass containers and have a lid that screws on with an added twist to keep product completely sealed. They are very creamy and VERY pigmented. Better to tap on the lid to get the full on pigment of this sweat proof, transfer proof and humidity tested cream shadow.

Vibrant colors last up to 15 hours, tested and created for smashbox studios.

Shade extension of the reflection high shine lip gloss! I love the original clear line treatment gloss. Now we will have 6 shades to choose from. I highly recommend this product for your pro kit. Honestly, it givess you such a high shine! Smooths out the lines of lips and moisturizes dry lips. A special 5 travel size mini shades of fame reflection lip gloss set kit coming in summer.

Benefit Cosmetics has this new amazing blush.  Hervana. This blush is very versatile. I have applied it to many clients of many different types of skin tones and it gives a beautiful flush of pink. Very healthly looking pink flush of color. Benefit is probably the only brand that I don't throw out the brush the blush comes with. Its so smooth and it actually applies very lovely.  My favorite part of this blush, is the scent. The scent is a sweet, cherry blossom, minty, orchid scent. Its so lovely. Annabelle Cosmetics New Lip Liners 2012

Annabelle is always in the front when it comes to new products and colors. Picked up these beautiful lip pencils by Annabelle Cosmetics at my local Shoppers without even thinking twice! I noticed the Le Gloss prepack with all the glosses and these wonderful new lip liner colors. (also new eyebrow retractable pencils, and glitter liners)

Heatwave: an bright almost neon orange
Showgirl: a bubble gum pink
Haute chic: a soft pale mauve

I don't know if these are limited, all I know I saw and had to have them.

Back to MAC lipsticks

So, I have never ever brought anything back to MAC,  Until now. 

Back to MAC, if you don't know is a recycling program MAC Cosmetics offers.  You bring back to MAC any 6 empty containers and you receive either a lipstick, gloss or shadow at the MAC stores. At The Bay counters you can only get lipsticks. 

I have accumulated so many containers, so I  took 18 and went on the mission to find me some spring color lipsticks. 

I am happy with the ones the picked. A purple, a pink and a deeper pinky red.

MAC Viva Glam - Nicki Minaj

On Feb 7th, I attended the VAINvalentine event and got the chance to try out the new Viva Glam by Nicki Minaj.  MAC describes it as a bright yellow pink, satin finish. I found it very retro. Very pale. I love it!

Elizabeth Arden is embracing natural beauty this spring. The collection is beautiful and so simple. It can be for all ages, definitely not your grandmas line anymore, although it has never been. I think because its been around for about 100 years, yes 100 years! read about Elizabeth Arden here.  Did you know she was Canadian and you can visit her house in Pioneer Village and she was from Woodbrige?
OK, back to the collection. The first thing we noticed when it came in, no shadows? 

Arden’s New Spring 2012 Make Up Collection is a modern twist on the original 1950’s collection designed by Ms. Elizabeth Arden herself.

The packaging is beautiful gold with rose design. 

The Pure Finish Bronze Powders are so silky and soft that they glide on your skin. They contain a gold soft shimmer. 3 shades that compliment from the fairest to darkest skin tones. 

The collection also consist of 3 lipsticks, a face Rosy Finish Highlighter, a cream blush, a bronzer brush, 2 liquid liners, a clear gloss and ceramide mascara (both from the regular line). I am loving this collection, its so simple and so easy to wear. It will complement any skin color and will enhance many features. Its so romantic!

I love Essie nail polish, I love the color selection, textures, finishes, and price. These new Luxeffects polishes are a little different than your glitter nail polish. Another great spring 2012 collection. This beautiful Clarins spring 2012 collection contains a few products that are limited editions.  I find with higher end brands women buy the key limited edition pieces of the collection to showcase and keep as collector items and not to actually wear. I know I have a couple of Chanel pieces from way back that are still in boxes and once in  a while I will take out and ohhh, ahhh, and admire.  OK, back to the Clarins collection. This collection includes an eyeshadow quad (limited) 2 liquid cream blushes(limited), a beautiful face palette colour breeze(limited) 2 lipsticks & 2 sheer lipsticks(limited), 8 Glosses(permanent).  Also featured with this collection is a mascara and eye luminator.

Lancome Canada Rouge in Love Lipsticks

I love LOVE the new Rouge in Love lipsticks from Lancome! Great colors, great textures, great pigments, amazing lasting wearing lipsticks!

When the collection came into our Beauty Boutique, my fellow beauty addicts & expert (coworkers) could not resist trying them on. While swatching and trying on, we could not resist saying "wow!" "look at THIS one!" "OK I want this one!" "Wait, no I want this one...!" Sometimes, I think I have to much fun at my job. 

Lancome was very very smart on using Emma Watson as their new face of Lancome.  I have noticed now that younger and teen aged girls are looking at Lancome and are buying Lancome.
